New UN Secretary-General calls for 2017 to be a year for peace

Secretary General of the United Nations, António Guterres, called on the world to make peace “our top priority”.

Mr. Guterres waves to share with the world an issue which weighs heavily on his heart. “How can we help the millions of human beings trapped in conflicts, who suffer enormously in interminable wars?”.

The Ninth Secretary-General of the Organization condemned the “lethal force” that decimated civilians. “Women, children, men are killed or wounded, forced into exile, dispossessed and deprived, even hospitals and humanitarian convoys are targeted,” he said (…)
