Iraq: more than 144,500 people displaced because of the Battle of Mosul (IOM)

Almost three months after the start of military operations against Daesh (ISIS) terrorist group in Mosul, more than 144,500 Iraqis have been displaced and in need of humanitarian assistance, according to the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

On Wednesday, an IOM team visited the town of Gogjiali, where Iraqis fleeing Mosul arrived. Families who have been separated by the occupation of the city by the EL are often there for the first time, noted the UN agency in a press release (…)

To assist Iraqis displaced by Mosul operations, IOM provides basic humanitarian assistance, including shelter, fuel, and health services, to more than 240,000 people in the affected areas, as well as in camps and sites emergency.
