Donald Trump’s blank check to Saudi Arabia threatens peace in the Middle East

The very problematic situation in which Qatar and Saudi Arabia now find themselves is another illustration of the speed with which tensions can escalate and even threaten peace in the region. This situation is largely due to the blank check that Donald Trump gave to Saudi Arabia last May to fight Islamist terrorism, against the signing of juicy contracts, including 110 billion arms contracts. Given the old ties between Saudi Arabia and the Trump companies, suspicions of potential conflicts of interest are once again expressed. It should be noted that the country is not included in any of the two versions of the presidential decree nicknamed “Muslim Ban”, aimed at drastically limiting the entry of citizens of 6 Arab-Muslim countries into the United States.
